UNDERSTAND FINANCIAL NEED & COSTS
An overview of financial need, the cost of attendance, and the net price calculator to determine how much it may cost you to attend.
How Eligibility is Determined
Financial aid requires financial need, except for unsubsidized loans. Financial aid was established on the premise that the primary responsibility for paying educational expenses rests with you and your family.
- Information from the FAFSA is used to calculate your Student Aid Index (SAI)/EFC. The Student Aid Index (SAI)/EFC is an eligibility index number that your school’s financial aid office uses to determine how much federal student aid you would receive if you attended the school.
Cost of Attendance – Student Aid Index = Financial Need
Our office will assist you and your family in trying to meet your financial needs by offering a combination of grants, scholarships, loans, and employment opportunities. If you have no financial need, you are still eligible to be considered for options like unsubsidized student loans and non-need-based financial.
What is Cost of Attendance?
COA is the amount it will cost a student to go to school. Most two-year and four-year colleges calculate their COA to show the total cost for the school year (for instance, for the fall and spring semesters). Schools with programs that last a different period of time (for instance, an 18-month certificate program) might show a COA that covers a time period other than a standard academic year.
If you’re attending school at least half time, the COA is the estimate of:
- Tuition and fees
- Books, course materials, supplies, and equipment;
- Cost of housing and food (or living expenses);
- Transportation expenses;
- Loan fees (excluding any loan fees for non-federal student loans);
- Miscellaneous expenses (including a reasonable amount for the documented cost of a personal computer);
- Allowance for childcare or other dependent care;
- Costs related to a disability;
- Costs of obtaining a license, certification, or a first professional credential; and
- Reasonable costs for eligible study abroad programs.
The Net Price Calculator is a tool for students and parents to estimate the cost to attend City Pointe Beauty Academy. Results may vary due to differences from student to student. Your actual aid eligibility is determined by the information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Who Should Use This Calculator?
- This calculator is best for first time in college, full-time students. It does not apply if you are an international student, a current City Pointe Beauty Academy student, or a recipient of certain scholarships.
- The calculator assumes that you will complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1st. Results are based on 2021-22 data and remember your actual aid may vary.
