Educational Requirements
A student must have a high school diploma or HiSET equivalency certificate/GED. Students are admitted on the basis of educational background, aptitude and commitment. The Academy does not admit ability-to-benefit students
HiSET is a secure online testing platform, for those that didn’t finish high school, that allows you to take the HiSET exam and earn a high school equivalency diploma. https://hiset.org
The exam is made up of five sections:
- Language Arts-Reading – measures your ability to understand, interpret and analyze a broad range of literary and informational text.
- Language Arts-Writing – measures your ability to recognize and produce standard American English, edit and revise written text, and generate and organize ideas in writing
- Mathematics – measures mathematical knowledge and competencies. Yu may use a calculator for this section
- Science – measures your ability to us science content knowledge, apply principles of scientific inquiry, and interpret and evaluate scientific information.
- Social Studies – measures your ability to analyze and evaluate information in history, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, geography and economics.

GED - General Educational Development Test enables adults who have not graduated from high school to demonstrate proficiency in the skills and concepts usually learned during four years of regular high school. The test is available in English, Spanish, and French. Special tests are available for the visually impaired. <stronghttps://www.ged.com
It is composed of five (5) subject area tests:
- Language Arts-Reading - Reading the GED Language Arts Reading Test will test how well you understand selections from several types of literature — such as fiction, poetry, and drama — and from nonfiction — such as nonfiction prose and documents commonly found in the workplace or community.
- Language Arts-Writing - multiple-choice questions to measure a person’s ability to use standard written English clearly and effectively. In addition, examinees author an essay on a topic about which they are expected to have general knowledge.
- Mathematics - arithmetic, algebra, and geometry as well as apply mathematical processes to realistic problems
- Science - Biology, earth science, physics and chemistry
- Social Studies - history, economics, political science, geography, and the behavioral sciences.
